Fly Fishing Schools
“GIVE A MAN A FISH, AND YOU FEED HIM FOR A DAY. TEACH A MAN TO FISH, AND YOU FEED HIM FOR A LIFETIME.”
Description
Source One Serenity’s fly fishing school is a week-long school which is a complete immersion for beginners into all aspects of fly fishing to introduce and teach fly fishing, enabling veterans to practice this art on their own after the school.
The school is at no cost to our veterans.
All fly fishing gear is provided as well.
Location
Our fly fishing schools take place at Lemolo Lake, Oregon with accommodation in a cabin Boathouse. We also introduce our participants to our local abundant aquatic ecosystem and world-renowned gem, the North Umpqua River. This school includes an introduction into restoration work of our streams and rivers, and shows veterans the importance of stewardship of our natural resources.
Requirements
We serve ALL veterans! Every veteran is eligible to apply. But we give priorities to those who are combat veterans of any era and have combat related condition(s) such as combat-related disability ratings, mental health disorders and similar.
If you are a non-combat veteran, but you want to attend the school, please apply. We want to hear your story!
Application
Next fly fishing school at Lemolo Lake will take place in 2021.
After you fill out the application form, we will get back to you within 7-10 days. If you meet all the requirements, it is not guaranteed that you will be selected. Thank you for your understanding. When you are selected, you will also receive a curriculum and a packing list.
